Ingredients

  • 2 tuna steaks (180g each)
  • 3 tbsp mixed sesame seeds
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 cups mixed cabbage and carrot slaw
  • 1 spring onion, sliced
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil

Method

    Press tuna steaks into sesame seeds on both sides to coat.

    Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, and ginger for the dressing.

    Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over very high heat until smoking.

    Sear tuna 60–90 seconds per side for rare, or 2 minutes for medium.

    Toss slaw with half the dressing. Slice tuna and serve over slaw.

    Drizzle remaining dressing over tuna and scatter with spring onion.
